The library serves 350 lawyers, articling students and courthouse officials in the Durham Region area.
Members may borrow texts for two days and law reports for up to 24 hours. Other items may be borrowed at the discretion of the librarian. Interlibrary loan is available upon request.
The DRLA was established in 1879 as the voice of lawyers in Durham. It is located in the new Oshawa courthouse. With a rich collection and access to technology, the DRLA strives to meet the needs of all lawyers. We encourage all lawyers in Durham Region to become members of this vibrant organization.
Computer User Workstations:
The library computer area consists of six computer workstations. The lounge area and the enitre library is wireless.
The library is situated on the main floor of the Durham Region Courthouse. The lawyers’ lounge features robing rooms that are adjacent to the library. Lockers are available for visiting lawyers. The library has a TV/VCR and DVD facilities. Word processing and printing capabilities are available.
