The library was first established in the basement of the county courthouse on Pembroke Street and consisted of a small room of books in cartons maintained by lawyers when time was available. It was later moved next door to the old registry office. This historical structure has been incorporated into the new court facility which also houses the RCLA law library.
Computer User Workstations:
The library moved to the newly renovated courthouse in the summer of 2007. There is seating for six plus three at the study carrels. Additional seating is available in the lawyers’ lounge which is adjacent to the library. The workspace provides members with access to wireless internet, telephones, word processing and other programs, printing and faxing. A TV, DVD, laptop and projector are also available.
