Doors are open to lawyers in the Toronto area. 3,500 members are entitled to additional reference and research services.
Members may borrow books overnight.
Large collection of English nominative reports. Upper Canada and Ontario legislation starting in 1792 and federal legislation since 1867.
The library was founded by the County of York Law Association in 1885. (The association changed its name in 2003.) It has been in its current location since 1969. Prior to that time the library was located in the Adelaide Street courthouse and in Old City Hall.
Computer User Workstations:
The library is located in the Toronto District Court House on the 3rd floor of the Rotunda. Directly below on the second floor is a lawyers lounge with seating for 40 lawyers and robing rooms; interview rooms are also available in the building. The 330 University Ave court house has robing rooms and a lawyers’ lounge on the 9th floor and the 393 University Ave court house has the same facilities on the 8th and 19th floors.
